Description: The Nursing Professional Development (NPD) Practitioner fulfills the role of Learning Facilitator through the education design process; however, requests are often made prior to completion of a needs assessment. Providing education in response to non-education issues consistently fails to close identified gaps and can lead to frustration for NPDs and key collaborators.

This offering guides you through the use of ANPD’s Education Decision Tree, a visual tool that supports NPD Practitioners in confidently assessing education requests systematically, in alignment with the NPD Scope and Standards of Practice.

The interactive tool is not downloadable or printable. A downloadable, one-page PDF of the education decision tree is included in the product.

Outcome:

• Upon course completion, 80% of participants will report an increase in their knowledge of how to incorporate assessment of education requests and diagnosis of practice gaps in alignment with the NPD Scope and Standards of Practice.

Successful Completion:

This course awards 1 ANCC NCPD contact hour.

To be awarded 1 ANCC NCPD contact hour, participants must:

• Complete the education module in its entirety.
• Complete the online course evaluation
